It needs to be something that is good and mailing list that lines up with the mailing list that you're targeting. This way you get a good message to market match, and you will get people to read your entire letter instead of throwing it away as soon as they open it. Now perhaps the most important part of any direct mail campaign is the mailing list. There are all kinds of ways to get your mailing list. You can collect it from a phone book, you can go to a list broker. You can rent a list from the SRDS. You can build a prospect list from all of mailing list the leads that you've generated. Or you can use your own customer database. With all of these options, only 3 of them will work out well for you. These 3 are: - A list from the SRDS - Your prospect list gathered from your ads - Your customer database By far the most responsive will be your customer database. I suggest that you start with this list first before you start using any of the other 2 lists. This is because 80% of your total business income will mailing list come from the backend. And when I mean by "backend", I mean backend marketing. This is simply the process of selling to your existing customers and clients. After you have contacted your customer database, it's time to start working from the next level down.
